FAQ
Is the river dangerous?
Anything can be dangerous if you aren't using your brain.
That being said, no, the river isn't any more or less dangerous than a swimming pool.
We don't have Piranhas swimming our waterways, or Alligators stalking our shores.
Just don't go kayaking during heavy rainfall or directly after a massive storm, the current can get moving up to xx mph (that's a lot faster than you can swim...).
Are bear attacks common?
No, we only have Black Bear in Forest County. They are quite reclusive and not predatory at all. (add bear attack stat) The only time they ever get aggressive with humans are when we get too close to their babies. Mama bears do NOT mess around when it comes to their cubs.
Just stay on the trails and wear something rattly so animals can hear you coming and don't get startled. A scared animal is a dangerous animal.
